Web development for kids

Web development is the process of creating pages and applications for a browser. Begin with HTML headings, paragraphs, and links; add CSS for appearance; then learn how JavaScript responds to actions. This overview follows those foundations in AI Ka School’s web curriculum.

A practical learning sequence

Content with HTML

Give a page a main heading, write a paragraph, and create a link with a meaningful label. Structure communicates what the content means.

Think it through: Which element belongs around the main page heading: h1, p, or a?

Style with CSS

Select an element and change one property at a time. Explore spacing and colour while keeping the text readable.

Think it through: If the selector is p, which elements receive the style?

Behaviour and accessible design

Understand how an event can trigger an action. Use links for navigation and buttons for actions, and check that a page makes sense without decorative styling.

Optional project idea

Build a page about a fictional club

Create a simple club page with a heading, a short description, and a list of activities. Use fictional information, then personalise the colours and spacing.
